Our company offers installation services for fountains, waterfalls, koi ponds, surface solutions, and more. Position Summary:
Are you wondering what you will be doing as a Crew Member here at Backyard Oasis?
In this position you will be working with other Crew Members, along with a Crew Supervisor, to provide service to residential or commercial customers. You will help provide maintenance to existing landscapes and water features along with installing them for new clients. As the field representation of our company, you will also be on the lookout to recommend additional services and products to help our customers.
Certified and experienced landscapers will start at $18.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on current certifications and years of experience. Additional earnings are possible, dependent upon performance.
No experience? New candidates will start at $17.00 per hour. When certification is completed and employees can work on their own, pay will be evaluated and increased, dependent upon performance, at the end of the 90-day trial period.
We are specifically looking for someone to grow with our company and be able to one day lead their own crew.
Essential Duties & Tasks (Training Is Provided):
- Help lift heavy objects at our retail location and special events
- Perform Spring openings and Fall closings of a customer's water features
- Correctly install the various water features our company provides
- Educate customers on best practices and products they will need to maintain their specific service
- Know how to spot potential problems on the job and communicate the best step forward with the customer
- Safely operate and maintain an assigned company vehicle and other company equipment
- Clean work trucks, trailers, and other equipment daily of garbage & debris
- Keep the crew storage area clean and organized
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- MUST have a valid Michigan Driver's License with a good driving record and be insurable
- Reliable transportation to our shop by 7:30 a.m. each day is REQUIRED
- To fit in at Backyard Oasis, you must have a positive attitude, be a friendly person with integrity, and care about providing excellent quality to our clients
- Ability to meet physical job requirements including but not limited to: independently lifting or carrying 50 lbs., walking, standing, and bending for moderate periods
- Exceptional customer service & communication skills
- Possess an attitude of learning and the ability to apply any feedback
- Willingness and desire to learn about landscaping services and the water feature industry
- Demonstrate the ability to follow directions and pay close attention to detail
- Be a self-starter who also enjoys working outdoors and in a team environment
- Possess a desire to work in a laid-back environment with high expectations for self discipline
- Have the ability to work Monday to Friday starting at 7:30 A.M. knowing a precise end time is not guaranteed because it varies based on the project
- Be able to work the occasional Saturday if projects have to be rescheduled for rain or bad weather that we have during the week
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and other area locations
- You must be willing to have a background check
